Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald first began her career when she sent in a demo CD in response to an advert in NME for a production company and floored songwriter Pete Wilkinson with her impressive writing skills. They spent months together in the studio recording songs, and she landed a contract with Vertigo in 2007. Later that year, Macdonald released her debut album ‘This Is the Life’ and went straight to no. 1 in the UK and across Europe. Throughout her career, Macdonald has become a decorated singer having won several awards from Silver Clef Award’s Best Newcomer in 2007, to Echo Awards Best International Rock/Pop Female in 2011 and the Scottish Music Awards’ King Tut’s Songwriting Award in 2015. In 2017, she released her fourth studio album, ‘Under Stars’, peaking at no. 2 in the UK charts.
