Bishop Briggs is a star on the rise. The stage name of UK-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sarah Grace McLaughlin, taken from the home town of her Scottish parents, Briggs has made her name in the US and Australia and is now looking to impress European audiences.
Moving between Tokyo, Hong Kong and Los Angeles in her adolescence, Briggs entered the music industry in 2015 after a performance in a local bar brought her to the attention of an A&R rep. She was quickly signed to Island Records and released the singles ‘Wild Horses’ and ‘River’, the latter of which reached no.2 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50. Briggs topped off her 2016 by supporting Coldplay on the US West Coast leg of their A Head Full of Dreams Tour.
After releasing her debut self-titled EP and a cover of INXS’ ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ for the Fifty Shades Freed Soundtrack, Briggs released her debut album Church of Scars in April 2018. She will now be embarking upon a summer festival tour in her adopted US before undertaking a European tour in autumn 2018. Combining a haunting gospel voice with thumping indie pop, Briggs is set to take the world by storm.
