With over 150 million records sold worldwide, Boney M. are firmly some of the bestselling artists of all time. It was the year 1978 that gave them the most success, with their double A-sided single “Rivers of Babylon/ Brown Girl in the Ring” becoming a huge hit across Europe with #1s all over. Soon after they released their most famous album, ‘Nightflight to Venus’ paving way for “Rasputin” and “Painter Man” to become some of the most recognisable songs of all time.
Although such success isn’t possible to replicate, Boney M. kept doing what they do best and released five more albums before hanging up their towel in 1985 after the release of ‘Eye Dance’. The original members continued to tour the world, although separately with their own line-ups of the group.
