Having been named as Rolling Stone’s Best Songwriter of 2008, Conor Oberst has been a member of many bands, the most notable of which is Bright Eyes. After learning to play guitar at a young age, Oberst began creating music in his parents’ basement with just a cassette recorder and pure drive, releasing his debut album ‘Water’ on tape. Over the next few years, Oberst formed and joined many groups, before creating Bright Eyes as a solo project in 1995, slowly making the climb to prominence. During that time, Oberst also joined punk rock band Desparecidos as guitarist and vocalist, making a marked change from his usual folk rock style. Since 2012, Oberst has been recording and touring under his own name, releasing ‘Ruminations’ in 2014, and its companion album ‘Salutations’ in 2017.
