As storied venues in London go, Shepherd’s Bush Empire is up there with the best of them. Currently operated by AMG, the 2,000-capacity Grade II-listed building started life as a music hall in 1903 before it was sold to the BBC in 1953 and used as a television studio/theatre, serving as the site of programmes such as This Is Your Life, Crackerjack and The Generation Game. The BBC vacated the building in 1991 and it was reopened as a live music venue in 1994.

Rock titans Soundgarden were one of the first bands to play the venue after its grand re-opening, and Shepherd's Bush Empire has since firmly established itself as a medium-sized venue in London’s rock scene, with Prince, David Bowie, and Muse a few of the acts to have played gigs there. In addition to its regular dance nights, Shepherd’s Bush Empire also hosts shows from leading comedians and special one-off events such as Island Records’ 50th anniversary.
