Known for his “very low energy musical whimsy” (or VLEMWY) style of comedy, David O’Doherty is a man of many talents, being an Irish comedian, author, musician, actor and playwright. He has won many awards for his comedic skill, beginning with his 1999 Edinburgh Fringe performance winning the ‘Channel 4 So You Think You’re Funny’ and in 2014 the ‘Best International Comedian Sydney Comedy Festival Award” for his 2013 tour ‘David O’Doherty Will Try To Fix Everything’. As well as having a successful career in stand-up comedy, O’Doherty has also been present on the big screen, regularly appearing on popular shows QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Would I Lie to You. In 2007 he debuted his first TV series ‘The Modest Adventures of David O’Doherty’, a six show series where he attempted to achieve goals set for himself from cycling to Galway or making a short film. In 2012, he had his very own ‘Comedy Central Presents’ episode on American TV, making him the first Irish comedian to do so.
