Jersey Boys is the unique show that turns the idea of the rock-doc into a musical. Following the journey of the 60s rock 'n' roll group The Four Seasons, this jukebox musical documents the group's formation, success and eventual fall from grace, all through their own classic songs. The musical, which debuted in 2005, won four Tony Awards in 2006 and has received rave reviews in its various productions around the world. Jersey Boys was the brainchild of Bob Gaudio, one of the original members of The Four Seasons, who wanted to use the band's discography for a musical. Hiring book writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, they put together a musical based on the band's history, drawing from interviews with the surviving members of the group. Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse, California in 2004 and opened on Broadway in November 2005, finally closing after 4,642 performances in January 2017. The show won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical and began touring nationally in the US in December 2006. Since making its international debut on the West End in 2008, Jersey Boys has entertained audiences all around the world. Don’t miss the chance to catch the show yourself.
