Machine Gun Kelly (or MGK) was born to missionary parents and lived across the world throughout his childhood. He soon settled in Denver, where he began listening to rap music and developing an interesting in becoming a musician. After moving to Cleveland, Ohio, he convinced a manager to take him on, and began making mixtapes under the stage name Machine Gun Kelly due to his rapid-fire delivery.
In 2011, at his first SXSW show he was approached by Sean Combs (better known by stage name P-Diddy) and was offered a contract with Bad Boy Records. Since then he was dominated the Ohio Hip Awards, as well as winning two MTVU Woodie awards and being nominated for Top Rap Collaboration by the Billboard Music Awards.
He has released 10 mixtapes, most notably so ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘Black Flag’, as well as three studio albums: ‘Lace Up’, ‘General Admission’ and ‘bloom’, his latest release.
