Biography

Electronica dance music duo Orbital are brothers Phil Hartnoll and Paul Hartnoll who broke through onto the scene in 1994 after winning the NME award for Vibes Best Dance Act, headlining at Glastonbury Festival in the same year. After 15 years of success on the scene the two broke up in 2004, releasing ‘Blue Album’ their seventh album and supposed last hurrah. However, four years later in 2008 the duo reformed ahead of a performance at The Big Chill Festival in 2009, and released another album together in 2012 entitled ‘Wonky’, being hailed as one of their best albums. Once again though, the duo announced that they would be breaking up for the final time in 2014, parting ways for what seemed like forever. They didn’t hold out long though, as they returned to the stage in February 2017, performing at festivals up and down the country.
