See The Bodyguard at the The Alexandra

The award-winning hit musical based on the 1992 blockbuster film is back in theatres. Following a hugely successful run in the West End, The Bodyguard is back in Birmingham at Alexandra theatre.

The iconic film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner was a huge success when it hit the cinemas. Now X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and Benoit Marechal step into the lead, recreating the romance and magic live on stage.

The musical follows Frank Farmer, a former secret service agent hired to protect a stalked celebrity, Rachel Marron. The pair are constantly butting heads, with each wanting to be in charge. But what they don’t expect is to fall in love. The romance thriller brings all the chemistry and fire in an unmissable production.

Featuring a score with all the best Whitney hits, the stage adaptation tributes the late singer. These include ‘How Will I Know’, ‘I Have Nothing’, and ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. It also features both the Dolly Parton and Whitney version of ‘I Will Always Love You’. Don’t miss your chance to sing along to Alexandra Burke bringing that Whitney magic to Birmingham!

Don’t miss out on Greatest Love of All as The Bodyguard runs in Birmingham from 21st January – 1st February 2020.

Venue Details

Commonly referred to as 'The Alex', the The Alexandra stands as one of Birmingham's most celebrated venues for theatre. In recent years The Alex has seen productions like Scrooge, Copacabana and Grease take to its stage, and a redevelopment of the stage and front of house led to shows like Les Mis and Oliver! taking over.
