A legend among guitarists, Uli Jon Roth is known to many as the lead guitarist of the Scorpions as well as key figure in the creation of neoclassical metal. After discovering the guitar in the 60s, he fell in love with playing and started playing in concerts at only 13 years old. By the 70s, Roth had joined the Scorpions and formed Germany’s #1 rock band, cementing his status as one of the world’s most iconic guitarists.
After five years with the Scorpions, Roth formed Electric Sun and released three albums ‘Earthquake’, ‘Fire Wind’, and ‘Beyond the Astral Skies’, before parting ways with the group in 1985 and focussing on his own style of music. During this time, he envisioned a new type of guitar – the Sky guitar, able to emulate the high notes of a violin thanks to additional frets.
Today the guitarist is still touring the world, bringing his unique vision of music to those everywhere.
