Canal Mills proves that a good venue will always make itself known. Drawing inspiration from the Industrial Revolution with its high beamed ceilings and exposed brickwork, Canal Mills is a multi-purpose creative space capable of hosting events as diverse as pop-up restaurants, exhibitions, live and electronic music events and theatre projects. The 1,400 capacity venue sprang out of the remains of a 18th century textile mill which had been left abandoned, dilapidated and in need of rejuvenation. The large, spacious building was taken over in 2012 and has since been fully converted and restored. Canal Mills now serves as a cultural hub for the Leeds community and the Yorkshire region, as its constantly evolving blank space allows it to host a range of unique events. Combining local spirit with international artistry, Canal Mills is an exciting, atmospheric venue that is only going to become more influential in the Yorkshire music scene.
