When it comes to big name artists and spectacular events, SWX is a venue that’s hard to top. This Bristol nightclub boasts a maximum capacity of 1,800 people and plays host to a variety of club nights, gigs and events across its three rooms.
SWX is particularly well-known for its house, R&B and pop nights – Far Fetched on Fridays and CODEC on Saturdays. The versatile venue also provides a space for fantastic live acts across the musical spectrum, specializing in indie artists. Recent artists to have passed through SWX include Band of Skulls, Parquet Courts and Peace, and it is also a host venue for the annual Dot to Dot Festival in Bristol.
In recent years SWX has undergone a huge refurbishment, reopening in 2015. The venue now boasts a high-spec sound and lighting system to supplement its main room’s sprung wooden dance floor, a remnant of the venue’s history as a Top Rank ballroom in the 60s. With everything you could need to have a good night, SWS is unarguably one of Bristol’s finest venues.
