One of Northern Ireland’s most popular spots for live music, Limelight comprises two venues, a bar and a rooftop terrace. The Limelight complex first opened in the late 80s, becoming famous for hosting new talent along with boisterous indie rock and metal club nights. After re-branding and growing in size, the venue now caters to 900 music lovers and features state-of-the-art facilities. Limelight has had many famous visitors over the years. Arctic Monkeys, Jeff Buckley, Blur and The Strokes are just a few of the bands that have performed there. Oasis famously celebrated the news of Definitely Maybe reaching No. 1 with fans there during a live performance in 1994. The newest addition to the Complex, Limelight 1, has hosted the likes of Primal Scream and Two Door Cinema Club since opening in 2012. That year also saw the refurbishment of Katy’s Bar, which offers a casual, local ambience complete with a broad selection of whiskey and beer.
