G Live is Guildford’s premier entertainment venue. Based on the site of the old Guildford Civic Hall, this £26m arts centre in Guildford, Surrey offers up an extensive gig programme as well as live comedy, dance and family shows. G-Live came into being in September 2011 as a replacement for the Guildford Civic Hall, which had been the town’s main arts and entertainment venue until it closed in January 2004. The centerpiece of G Live is its 1,000-seater main auditorium, which can accommodate up to 1700 people at standing room only events; it also boasts a 100-seat studio space, the Bellerby Studio, which is used for more intimate performances. G Live serves a vital function in the cultural life of Guildford, hosting the annual G Live Beer Festival as well as the Guildford Fringe Festival. With recent performers at G Live including Jason Manford, Suzanne Vega and Harry Hill, G Live is the place to go in Guildford if you’re looking to end an evening with a big smile on your face.
