About

The venue reopened as an entertainment site in 2011, retaining some of its original 1930's charm from its former days as a Baths Hall. Locals and tourists of Scunthorpe can now enjoy the likes of music concerts, theatre, dance, comedy, and community events thanks to its flexible design and state-of-the-art technology.

The Baths Hall was transformed into an entertainment complex back in the 70’s, but required further renovation and rebuilding over the years. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, artists such as The Kinks, The Who and Ocean Colour Scene have all played there. There were also many community festivals and Radio 1’s DJ, the late John Peel, described the Hall as his favourite venue. While the old Hall was demolished, the 1930's facade and the historical presence of the site remained.

Comedian and TV personality, Bill Bailey, opened the new building in 2011, which coincided roughly with the 75th anniversary of Scunthorpe officially becoming a borough town. Bailey reflected on the venue as having a great atmosphere for shows, and emanating a traditional concert hall with added newness.

Since the reopening, various acts who have taken to its stage include The Darkness, Hairy Bikers, UB40, Sarah Millican, Paul Weller, The Mouse Trap, the Moscow City Ballet and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, illustrating the venue’s diverse programming.
