YES is Manchester’s newest music venue. An old auction building renovated by the music promoters Now Wave, YES opened in September 2018 and offers up four floors of fun with its distinctive Pink Room as well as its atmospheric basement club and lively rooftop terrace.

YES is Manchester’s newest music venue. An old auction building renovated by the music promoters Now Wave, YES opened in September 2018 and offers up four floors of fun with its distinctive Pink Room as well as its atmospheric basement club and lively rooftop terrace.
YES was created as a joint venue between local indie promoters Now Wave, who have been hosting gigs in the city since 2008, and Ruth Hemmingfield, who has worked at four venues across the city. As self-assured as its name, YES breaks convention, appeals to different crowds and crucially offers everything a good indie music venue should, with clear stage views and a fantastic sound set-up.
Combining industrial brick with a lush rooftop garden, YES also offers fantastic food and drink for any discerning gig-goer for an unusually affordable price. YES’s bar offers pints for just £2.95 – hot drinks at just 95p - and its street food kitchen offers half-price pizza slices from 12pm to 7pm every day. With pizzas, burgers and delicious cocktails available, there’s enough here to skip the gig altogether.
YES has only been open for a short time but welcomed in acts such as Let’s Eat Grandma, Dutch Uncles and local heroes Everything Everything at its launch, with Natalie Prass, Speedy Ortiz and The Field just a few of the names set to follow. Undoubtedly the city’s most ambitious venue, YES is set to be one of the cornerstones of the Manchester music scene.
