About

As an integral part of Lancaster's social and cultural scene, the Grand Theatre accommodates a blend of comedy, drama, dance and music from both touring professionals and amateur groups. Since its launch in 1782, it has remained near consistently open to the public and is amongst one of the oldest surviving theatres in Britain today. The Grade II listed venue displays an ornate Edwardian design which came after a major fire in 1908. The institution had to undergo a massive remodelling and rose from the ashes in the elegant design still seen today.
