The Lemon Tree is the most intimate of Aberdeen Performing Arts' three arts venues in the city of Aberdeen. The other two venues the council body operates are His Majesty's Theatre and the Music Hall. The Lemon Tree is a key part of north-east Scotland's performing arts circuit as it welcomes local, national and international touring artists. Not only that, but it also regularly hosts events for Aberdeen's various art festivals.

The Lemon Tree also does its bit when it comes to community outreach. The venue acts as home to Aberdeen Performing Arts' Creative Learning Team, which gives young people the chance to engage with the arts. In addition to hosting artists in residence, the Lemon Tree also supports emerging talent through its Freshly Squeezed programme. The venue also hosts one of Scotland's largest Youth Theatres as it currently boasts 165 members.

The Lemon Tree has two performance spaces for audiences to enjoy. The Lounge can hold 550 people at standing shows and just under 300 people for seated shows like cabarets. The Lemon Tree's Studio theatre, meanwhile, has a seated capacity of 166. That makes it perfect for smaller events like spoken word. Each space even has its own bar where you can relax with a drink before a show.
